• 1/8" Upcut Endmill – secondary pocketing and detail clearing
• 1/16" Endmill – fine detail machining
• 60° V-Bit – primary V-carved lettering and border details
• 30° V-Bit – fine engraving and small lettering details
This tool combination produces sharp edges, smooth recessed areas, and detailed engraving while maintaining efficient machining times.
The toolpaths included in the Carbide Create file use feed rates and cutting parameters based on the settings I run on my own machine, which are slight adjustments of the default values provided within Carbide Create.
These settings are intentionally fairly conservative to provide reliable results across a wide range of hobby CNC machines and materials. Because every CNC machine behaves differently depending on rigidity, tooling, workholding, and material, you should review and dial in feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for your specific setup before machining the full project.
