The included Carbide Create (.c2d) project file is configured for machining with the following tooling:
• 1/4" Upcut Endmill – primary pocket clearing
• 1/8" Upcut Endmill – secondary pocketing and detail clearing
• 1/16" Endmill – fine detail machining
• 60° V-Bit – primary V-carved lettering and border details
• 30° V-Bit – fine engraving and small lettering details
This combination of tooling allows the design to achieve sharp edges, smooth recessed areas, and detailed engraving while maintaining efficient machining times.
Toolpath Settings Note
The toolpaths included in the Carbide Create project file use feed rates and cutting parameters that are based on the settings I run on my own machine, which are slight adjustments of the default values provided within Carbide Create.
These settings are intentionally fairly conservative to provide reliable results across a wide range of hobby CNC machines and materials. However, every CNC machine behaves differently depending on rigidity, tooling, workholding, and material.
For best results, you should review and dial in feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for your specific machine and setup before machining the full project.
